A time-tested, minimally invasive Ayurvedic procedure for ano-rectal disorders, offering safe, precise, and long-term relief without major surgery.
Ksharasutra is a classical Ayurvedic para-surgical technique described in
ancient texts for the management of ano-rectal diseases. It uses a specially
medicated alkaline thread that gradually cuts, heals, and sterilises the
affected tract.
From a modern perspective, Ksharasutra offers a controlled, chemical
cauterisation with continuous drainage and healing. It avoids extensive
surgery, reduces recurrence, and preserves sphincter function.
After detailed evaluation, the medicated thread is placed in the affected
tract under sterile conditions. The thread is replaced periodically in
outpatient settings.
The alkaline coatings gradually cut through unhealthy tissue, destroy
infection, and promote healthy granulation. The tract heals naturally
without extensive surgical wounds.
